The side panels depict the peoples of various Asian civilizations in local costume including Syrians, Arabs, Armenians, Persians, Burmese, Gujaratis, Sumatrans, Javans, Moluccans, Japanese, Chinese, Tatars, and Russians. Gerritsz was influenced by various sources including De Bry, Linschoten and Enea Vico. The lower register features birdseye views from Braun & Hogenberg and Lindschoten including Rhodes, Farmagusta, Damascus, Jerusalem, Aden, Hormuz, Goa, Calicut, Candy, Bantam, Gammalamme [Moluccas], and Macao. Maps (1025 x 1425mm), frames (1285 x 1685mm). Maps laid on cloth and within a wooden frame (some chips and losses, heavier to the handcoloured outlines, a bit browned)
