It is a snapshot of great satisfaction that marks the results of the Modern and Contemporary Art sale: over € 5,5 million in total, 92% of lots sold, 155% revaluation on estimates and 3 new world records for the Italian artists Ennio Morlotti, Bruno Munari and Edgardo Mannucci.


Endless bids and a heated competition between bidders from all over the world are the symbolic image of a catalogue that since its publication has catalysed the audience's attention with more than 10,000 digital readings and over 100,000 online views from thousands of active users.

The first success of the sale is by the artist Hans Hartung (€ 252,000), followed by the extraordinary results achieved by the museum piece “Collina a Imbersago (Paesaggio con figure)” by Ennio Morlotti (€ 201,600) and by the rediscovered work “Buccia di Eva” by an unpublished futurist Bruno Munari (€ 176,400).

The hammer knock marks the performance of artists such as Paolo Scheggi with "Zone riflesse" (€ 138,600), Renato Guttuso and his monumental work "Il bosco d'amore" (€ 100,800) and rewards, in the context of the early 20th century, the incredible modernity of two masterpieces on paper by Angelo Morbelli: "La sedia vuota" and "Il Natale dei rimasti" - both sold for € 50,400.

Premonitory results of a growing trend are the sculpture "Sole elogio del 3" by Giò Pomodoro (€ 37,800), the painting "Black City New York" by William Congdon (€ 35,280) and the record of the labyrinthine "Spirale" by the sculptor Edgardo Mannucci (€ 18,900).
