The Time of Elegance: Watches at Auction
More than seventy wristwatches and pocket watches will enliven the auction on June 3, 2024, at Palazzo Crivelli: true masterpieces of engineering combined with the elegance of jewelry.
Increasingly sought-after accessories, refined status symbols, and complex mechanical masterpieces represent the perfect fusion of aesthetic beauty and technical precision, as seen in the beautiful Vacheron & Constantin, Phidias (lot 1071, €7,000 - 9,000) and the equally elegant Audemars Piguet, Royal Oak 'Mini Jumbo' (lot 1072, €13,000 - 16,000), both from the early '90s.
Elevated to style icons, sometimes because they became famous through celebrities or special editions, the Rolex Day-Date from '59 bears the signature Serpico y Laino (lot 1070, €10,000 – 15,000), a renowned jewelry store in Caracas (Venezuela) founded in the 1930s by two Italian immigrants, Leopoldo Serpico and Vicente Laino, which soon became a worldwide reference in the field of high-quality craftsmanship.
