A Famille Rose ‘hundred butterflies’ bottle vase with a globular body moulded with a raised fillet to the shoulder, rising from a straight foot to a tall waisted neck flaring at the rim, the exterior brightly enamelled with the ‘hundred butterflies’ design, divided by a wide band of gilt shou characters interspersed with stylised lotus sprigs, the rim encircled by a ruyi band and the foot with lappets, the base with a six-character Guangxu mark in iron-red China, Qing dynasty, Guangxu period (1875-1908) (h. 39.5 cm.)
