Complete with its 6 sheet map of Campo Marzio (formed by plates numbered V-X and measuring 1465 x 1480mm) and the large folding plate XXXI engraved by Arnold Westerhout after a drawing by Francesco Fontana showing the extraction works of the colonna Antonina. Elephant folio (544 x 410mm). The work is complete with: 2 engraved frontispiece, 4 dedication leaves (8pp.) in Italian and Latin to Robert Adams with on the first two leaves 2 engraved headpieces; 69 pp. numbered in Arabic numerals with 2 engraved initials and 2 engraved illustrations on the final two leaves, 12 pp. of index numbered in Roman numerals, 17 pp. of Italian and Latin catalogued numbered in small Roman numerals, 48 numbered plates with their Index monumento/Index reliquiarum including the large folding plate of Campo Marzio and the folding plate of the extraction of the colonna Antonina (few occasional minor stains, the large folding plate of Campo Marzio with few minimal tears at inner folds and few reinforces on verso). Contemporary half calf over marbled boards, gilt title on spine, marbled edges (extremities rubbed, corners bumped, spine ends chipped, joints starting). This edition sometimes has the "Catalogo delle opere date finora alla luce da Gio. Battista Piranesi" (which isn't present here).
