BELLORI, Giovanni Pietro (1613-1696) - Columna Cochlis. Rome: Domenico De Rossi, 1704-1708.   A good, wide-margined copy of this comprehensive depiction of the Antonine Column in Rome, the commemorative monument erected between AD 172 and 196 to celebrate the victories of Marcus Aurelius. A further three plates were issued in 1708 and are included in this copy.   Oblong folio (362 x 464mm). Engraved title, dedication to the Pope and 77 plates numbered 1-77 with bas-reliefs of the column and 3 full-page plates numbered I-III published in 1708 (occasional light spotting and scattered stains). Contemporary half calf (extremities rubbed and chipped). Provenance: Mr. Le Syndic Masbou (bookplate).
