Flemish school, 17th century Descent from the cross; Nicodemus; Magdalene Triptych, oil on panel, 71x46 cm. (central panel); 53.5x19 cm. and 52.5x20 cm. (lateral panels) On the back of the Nicodemo's panel inscription "Mantegna" 18th century carved and gilt frames (defects and restorations) The central panel is a copy of a lost work by Rogier Van der Weyden, known through various later copies. The triptych presented here derives, more precisely, from the one kept in the Metropolitan Museum and executed by the Master of the Holy Blood, who copied the same Deposition by Van der Wayden, adding the two lateral panels with Nicodemus and Magdalene.
