A lot of three ivory netsuke and a miniature okimono: Ebisu, the Japanese god of fishermen, holding a bream up from his basket, unsigned; Daikoku’s mallet with a pair of rats perched on it, signed; A natto seller, stamping his foot and calling out to draw attention to his wares, signed; Miniature okimono depicting karasu tengu climbing a giant conch shell while Yoshitsune and his loyal servant Benkei shelter inside. It was Sojobu tengu who taught Yoshitsune the art of swordsmanship and Benkei, the warrior monk, is depicted with a conch shell trumpet, inscribed Hidemasa   Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)   This lot may be subject to Import/Export restrictions due to CITES regulations in some extra UE countries
