[BIBBIA-LUTERO] - Biblia, dat is de gantsche H. Schriftuure vervattende alle de Boecken des Ouden ende Nieuwen Testaments. Amsterdam: Jacob Lindenberg, 1702-1703.   A very rare example of a Dutch Bible containig the Old and New Testament and the Apocryphia with numerouse engraved plates and maps in fine contemporary handcolouring sometimes heightened in gold and in a splendid contemporary russia binding with its original metal clasps and a central portrait, probably of Luther.   2 parts in one volume, folio (420 x 275mm). Splendid frontispiece with biblical subject by Crisipin de Pas and engraved by F. Brun, title with woodcut device, second frontispiece engraved by Roman de Hooghe, second title with engraved vignette and dated 1703, full-page engraved illustration depicting the characters of the Reformation including Luther, another frontispiece at the beginning of the second part "Het Nieuwe Testament" for a total of 4 plates comprising frontispieces and portraits; 4 double-page geographical maps and a view of Jerusalem, 68 (of 69) full-page engraved plates, many with double subjects and depicting episodes from the Old and New Testament, all in fine contemporary handcolouring with gilt inserts; few headpieces and woodcut initials (lacking plate 10, occasional light dampstaining and few other stains, occasional browning).   Contemporary blindstamped russia decorated in blind and previously also in gold, portraits on front and rear cover, probably of Luther, as centerpiece, 7 brass cornerpieces (one lacking) and clasps (spine and joints restored).
