[MILANO-DUOMO] - MORIGIA, Paolo (1525-1604) - Distinto ragguaglio dell'ottava maraviglia del mondo, o sia della gran metropolitana dell'Insubria volgarmente detta il Duomo di Milano. Milan: Pietro Antonio Frigerio, [1739].   A corrected and augmented reprint of the renown work by Morigi, which was first published in 1594. This copy is without the date on title, but with "9. Februarii 1739" on the Imprimatur at end. Curiously, some 18th-century manuscript epitaphs have been inserted throughout.   8vo (178 x 108mm). Woodcut initials and headpieces, a large folding plate with the plan of the Duomo of Milan (a small clean tear) and a folded leaf printed on recto and verso with the list of the relics preserved in the Cathedral (some staining, foxing and minimal tearing, a wormhole at end just touching a few words). 18th-century vellum, manuscript title on spine and on lower edge (few stains and light wear). Provenance: Emilio De Marchi Gherini (bookplate).
