DANTE - Divina Commedia Laurenziana. Ms 152. Castel Guelfo: Imago, 2019.   A reproduction of the Strozzi codex ms. 152 of the Laurentian Library bearing the Divine Comedy, made between 1330 and 1350 in the workshop of master Pacino di Buonaguida, who is thought to have contributed to the decoration of the manuscript by making the first sheet of each Cantica. The Inferno is illustrated by 49 sumptuous miniatures in the lower margin of the page and Purgatory features pen and ink drawings by the master Daddesco, while Paradise has not been decorated. The manuscript also includes comments by Jacopo della Lana, by Bosone da Gubbio and by the author's son, Jacopo Alighieri. Probably, as the coat of arms on the first page shows, the codex was commissioned by the Bugliaffi family and then came into the possession of the Strozzi family, who donated it to the Laurentian Library in 1785.   (370 x 245mm). Copy no. 22 of 200. Detailed colour reproduction of the original codex. Leather binding with blindstamped decorations and metallic studs. Withouth the commentary volume.
