DANTE - La Divina Commedia di Federico da Montefeltro Ms. urb lat. 365. Modena; Rome: Panini; Treccani, 2020.   A reproduction of one of the most illuminated manuscripts of the Divine Comedy. The work was commissioned around 1476 by Federico da Montefeltro, Duke of Urbino, to the scriptorium of Matteo Contugi from Volterra who hired Guglielmo Giraldi from Ferrara for the miniatures. Giraldi was subsequently taken over by Franco de Russi from Ferrara to illustrate the Purgatory, while the Paradise remained mainly unadorned following the death of the Duke in 1482.   (420 x 270mm). Copy no. 203 of 550. Detailed colour reproduction of the original codex. Red velvet binding decorated with gilt brass inserts within an editorial box. With the commentary volume.
