Portrait of Benito Mussolini datable to 1923. Oval porcelain travel miniature painted by miniaturist Italo De Bernardi, Milan. Signed at lower right "Italo" in red. Contained in wooden and Morocco leather-covered case with the date October 28, 1923 and a bronze Fasces, first type. Probable gift to Benito Mussolini on the anniversary of the "March on Rome"   Asset accompanied by the statement of Rino Fossati, grandson of Leopoldo Re (1874-1951). "Poldo" to the family, he entered the service of the Mussolini family in April 1920 in Milan as a chauffeur and butler and remained in service until 1940 when he retired due to seniority; his memoirs were recently published in the book "Twenty Years with the Duce" written by his nephew, Rino Fossati
