"Poldo" to the family, he entered the service of the Mussolini family in April 1920 in Milan as a chauffeur and butler and remained in service until 1940 when he retired due to seniority; his memoirs were recently published in the book "Twenty Years with the Duce" written by his nephew, Rino Fossati
