VIOLA ZANINI, Giuseppe (1575/80-1631) - Della architettura.. libri due. Padua: Giacomo Cadorino, 1678/1677.   Interesting second edition of the work of the architect Viola-Zanini, enriched by numerous full-page woodcut illustrations. The work is divided in two volumes: the first examines materials, geometric principles, architectural spaces, plans and sites for building, while the second analyzes the five architectural orders according to the codification of Jacopo Barozzi da Vignola (1507-1573).   2 parts in one volume, 4to (220 x 160mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut headpieces and initials, many woodcut full-page illustrations (little wormholes and traces at inner margin not touching text, spotting, browning, some little stains). Contemporary vellum, later manuscript title on spine, speckled edges (some rubbing and chipping, stains, rear cover and spine detached from the textblock). Provenance: Franciscus Niezorellus (contemporary ownership inscription on endpaper) - Neque in ira (coloured bookplate on title with some traces of glue in the margins).
