ORLANDI, Pellegrino Antonio (1660?-1727) - L’Abcedario Pittorico dall’Autore Ristampato Corretto et Accresciuto di Molti Professori. Bologna: Costantino Pisarri all'insegna di S. Michele, 1719.   A curious copy with the leaves interleaved at the time by blanks of the second enlarged edition of the most famous work by the Bolognese writer and historian Pellegrino Antonio Orlandi. The Abcedario, printed for the first time in 1704, contains a detailed list of artists with their biographical data and record of works. A real "ABC" of painting, reprinted in this "corrected and augmented edition". The woodcut illustrations show the numbers and marks used by the print engravers.   4to (235 x 170mm). Printer's device on title, arms on dedication, 5 full-page woodcut illustrations, headpieces and initials (foxing). Contemporary speckled calf, gilt spine, red edges and fine decorated endpapers (rebacked preserving most of the original spine).
