[S.L., Milan?: s.e., probabilmente a cura dell'autore], 1938.   A work difficult to find on the market and famous for its macabre illustrations. Curiously one of the illustrations is dedicated to Dante Alighieri. Fingenstein was a Czech painter and engraver of Jewish origin and is regarded as one of the greatest bookplate artists.   Folio (500 x 350mm). 13 copperplate and drypoint etchings within passpartouts of various sizes, each signed in pencil by the artist (taped to the passepartout with adhesive tape, modern ownership stamp on the verso). Dark percalline portfolio with paper label on front cover (worn).
