The authors represented are countless, but the work is particularly sought after for the series of 4 plates of "Los Proverbios" by Francisco Goya y Lucientes hitherto unpublished: Lluvia de toros, Otras leyes para el pueblo, ¡Qué guerrero! and A queen of the circus, present in the second volume of the 1877 year.   55 tomes in 29 volumes, folio (435 x 303mm). Numerous old master etchings protected by tissue paper and numerous illustrations in the text (some staining and foxing, Goya's plates are slightly browned and with some foxing). Contemporary half vellum with gilt decorated spines and gilt titles on red and dark leather labels (generally more marked defects on the spines of some volumes). Sold as not subject to return. (29)
