Venice: eredi di Damiano Zanari (Bartolomeo Rodella), 1607.   First edition of this astronomical work illustrated with numerous woodcuts. The author, a professor of mathematics and astronomy in Bologna as well as a famous cartographer, in this treatise legitimized astrology applied to the medical field. The contents of the work are equally distributed between a commentary on Galen, two treatises on medical astrology and astrological precepts, and finally a collection of 30 horoscopes, some of which have been taken from works by Thomas Bodier, Girolamo Cardano, Girolamo Rossi.   4to (197 x 140mm). Elaborate printer's device on title , woodcut headpieces and initials, numerous woodcut illustrations (browning, title lightly cropped, paper flaw at 2A3 not touching text, waterstain on the lower corner of the final leaves). Modern black binding with gilt decoration recalling the illustrations on the rear cover, gilt title on spine.
