Spirito, 1837.   A fascinating work accompanied by splendid large plates depicting Egyptian monuments, views, objects, populations and hieroglyphics. Some illustrations are taken from original drawings by Segato made from life during his trip to Egypt, and others are after Denon, the French Commission, Gau, Caillaud and Rosellini.   2 parts in one volume, folio (486 x 321mm). Half-titles for each part, 159 plates numbered from 1 to 99 with many plates bis, tris etc. of which 62 plates in the first part and 97 in the second, 35 coloured and others folding, containing views of Egyptian landscapes and monuments (occasional browning and foxing).
