Antonio de León y Gama, Mexican anthropologist, wrote his treatise following the discovery in 1790 of the statue of the goddess Coatlicue and the Piedra del Sol, whose artistic value he always praised, promoting its conservation.   2 works in one volume, 4to (205 x 140mm). Engraved titles with printer's device, a total of 6 engraved plates, 3 folding (relaid and restored title, waterstains at first gatherings, stains on a few leaves from gathering g not touching plates, tiny tear at second plate of first work, browning, foxing). 20th-century binding with calf spine, gilt title on spine (rubbing and chipping).
