[ROMA] - ROSSINI, Pietro (XVII-XVIII sec.) - Il Mercurio errante delle grandezze di Roma. Rome: Giovanni Zempel, 1732.   A good copy of this popular guide to the city of Rome, published for the first time in 1693 and accompanied by delightful plates depicting the most famous Roman buildings and monuments.   12mo (150 x 75mm). Half-title, engraved frontispiece, woodcut initials and tail pieces, 71 engraved plates (many plates applied, wormtracks to the inner margin of B11-C6, marginal tear not touching the text in L1, some light spotting, foxing and browning). Contemporary vellum, manuscript title on spine, marbled edges (some light staining, light losses to outer corners of rear cover). In the absence of a precise collation, the work is sold as described and is not subject to return.
