[DANTE - AQUILEIA] - CANDIDO, Giovanni (ca. 1450-1528) - Commentarii de i fatti d'Aquileia. Venice: Michele Tramezzino, 1544.   A rare work difficult to find on the market dedicated to the history of Friuli from the foundation of Aquileia to 1517. The first edition was published in Latin in 1521 in Venice. Book V contains the curious news about an alleged stay of Dante in Udine which, according to the author, was hosted by the bishop Pagano Della Torre.   8vo (144 x 100mm). Large printer's device of the Sibilla on title, with final blank (light waterstaining, browning and soiling). Contemporary vellum, manuscripts title on spine and lower edge (bowed, light stains and wormholes). Provenance: S.B. (ancient initials on title).
