Basel: Giovanni Oporini, 1558.   An edition of Isocrates in elaborate contemporary blindstamped pigskin dated a few years after publication: Justice is depicted on the rear cover, on the back cover Lucretia taking her own life as an example of Chastity.   4to (190 x 120mm). Woodcut initials, parallel Greek text (without final blank, browning, occasional very light spotting and soiling). Contemporary blindstamped pigskin over wooden boards signed "ASC 1566", gilt title on later spine label (without clasps, some stains, light rubbing). Provenance: Aurelius Streitbergerus Curiensis (contemporary ownership inscription in red ink on title).
