LAZIARDUS, Johannes (m. 1467) - Conserta epitomata a prim[a]eva mundi origine ad tempora nostra. [Paris]: Hémon Le Fèvre e Jean Kerver, [1521].   The only edition, in the rare issue with Le Févre's printer's device (not mentioned in Renouard 600), of the fascinating work by the Celestine monk regarding the history of the world from the Creation, depicted in an elegant woodcut at the beginning of the work, up to the election of Pius III in 1503. The work was completed by Humbert Vellay, who compiled the last years of history reaching up to 1520.   Folio (320 x 205mm). Printer's device of Le Févre on title, title within typographical border, woodcut initials, woodcut illustration (tear at title without loss of text probably due to a paperflaw, reinforcements on verso of title, some restoration sometimes touching text without compromising its legibility, browning, foxing, occasional soiling). Contemporary finely blindstamped calf, gilt title on modern spine label, red edges (rebacked, modern endpapers, chipping and rubbing). Provenance: few contemporary annotations.
