POMPEO, Trogo (I secolo a.C.- I secolo d.C) - Trogi Pompei externae historiae in compendium ab Iustino redactae. Venice: Aldo Manuzio e eredi di Andrea Torresano, 1522.   A copy printed by Aldus's heirs which collects the well-known chapters of ancient history mainly from the Greek world drawn up by the historian who lived between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD. Actually, the text was handed down by a later historian, Marco Giuniano Giustino, who extrapolated the main chapters, today the only available source of Trogo's writings. The second work, falsely attributed to Emilio Probus, is actually by Cornelio Nepote.   8vo (153 x 86mm). Printer's device on title and at the end (small wormholes on title, gatherings A8-C4 with a small marginal stain and tiny wormtracks, some light staining, soiling and browning). 17th or 18th-century red morocco, gilt titles and decorations on spine, covers and dentelles, gilt edges, endpapers decorated in gilt and blindstamp (rear cover starting, slight losses at joints and corners, minimal defects on the rear cover).
