Title with woodcut vignette depicting St. John, elaborate woodcut initials on black background, title and initial of the first chapter in red, woodcut illustrations, printer's device at colophon (title with marginal wormtracks continuing on the following leaves and with a central one touching some letters also in a2, waterstaining to upper margin of first gatherings, some light staining and foxing). 18th-century half vellum, gilt title on spine, blue speckled edges (slight losses to covers, some wormholes on spine). Provenance: some contemporary annotations on title and in text.
