BORDONI, Francesco (1595-1671) - Manuale consultorum in causis s.Officii contra haereticam pravitatem refertum. Parma: Giuseppe dall'Oglio e Fratelli Rosati, 1693-91.   An important text against heretics, used for over a century: it deals with everything concerning heresies, from how to recognize them, to various trial procedures for heretics, to torture, corporal punishments, etc. About twenty pages are related to book printers and, obviously, to prohibited ones.   2 parts in one volume, folio (340 x 210mm). Printer's device on titles, woodcut initials and head-and-tail pieces (first two leaves shorter at lower margin but with stains corresponding to following leaves, some small marginal wormtracks touching some letters in the final gatherings, sporadic waterstaining, some foxing and browning sometimes heavier). Contemporary calf, gilt titles and decoration on spine (rebacked preserving part of the original spine, general wear). Provenance: Navaus Bozzi (early ownership inscription on endpaper).
