Paris: Imprimerie nationale, 1931.   An interesting work on the epochal aviation achievement accomplished by Dieudonné Costes and Maurice Bellonte, whom successfully completed the first aerial crossing of the North Atlantic from east to west, connecting Paris to New York non-stop aboard the Point d'Interrogation in 1929. The volume traces the entire history of the event, from the preliminary studies to the festive welcome of the two aviators by the French Government once the achievement was accomplished. The volume is complete with many illustrations and photographs of the time, and the present copy is presented in a splendid signed artist's binding.   Folio (326 x 245mm). Many illustrations and photogravures in the text, 16 plates protected by tissue paper, 6 of which folding (title bound upside down). Blue morocco signed René Barbot on dentelle with colored inserts and gilt stars, gilt title on spine, decorated endpapers, gilt edges, original paperback preserved, within a matching slipcase (a few scratches, lightly discoloured joints).
