[INSIEME A:] - Leonardo NICODEMO - Addizioni copiose alla Biblioteca Napoletana. Napoli: Salvatore Castaldo, 1683.   Two first editions of these bibliographical works on Neapolitan literature. The first work is very rare and famous and can be defined as the first bibliography dedicated to Neapolitan writers and which was extended by Lionardo Nicodemo. Toppi studied law and was a famous lawyer, a profession which he then abandoned for the office of Keeper of the Archives of the Royal Chamber of Sommaria. He wrote about ten historical and legal works, some of which were very successful.   2 works in 2 volumes, folio (318 x 220mm); (310 x 205mm x mm). First work with allegorical engraved frontispiece, printer's device on title, woodcut headpieces and initials, separate title for the second part (browning, foxing, thin marginal restorations to the first and final leaves, thicker restoration touching text on final leaf). Second work with engraved coat of arms of the dedicatee on title, woodcut headpieces and initials (without final leaf with dedication, marginal restorations on title, browning, waterstaining to lower corner). Contemporary vellum, gilt titles on spines, speckled edges (light rubbing and minimal restorations). (2)
