[RENATA DI FRANCIA] - Libro d'Ore di Renata di Francia. Modena: Il Bulino, 1998.   Le Petites Prières by Renée de France, from 1517, is a valuable Renaissance prayer book originally from Paris. Celebrated for its extraordinary floral decoration, the manuscript was commissioned for Renée, the young sister of Queen Claude de France. The book contains 12 magnificent full-page miniatures, of which five depict Renée. After the death of her husband Ercole II d'Este, Renée left Ferrara and returned to France in 1560, while the book remained in the Estense Library. During an exhibition in Montecassino in 1994 the manuscript was stolen and has still not been found today.   (122 x 88mm). Copy no. 283 of 999. Detailed colour reproduction of the original codex.
