The codex is large in format and splendidly decorated, following the tradition of codes on Saint Francis: it is adorned with 17 fascinating miniatures representing episodes from the life of the Saint, following the style of Giotto's frescoes in Assisi. The presence of gilt backgrounds suggests a wealthy patron, with the hypothesis that it could be the mysterious female figure present in the miniatures.   (345 x 250mm). Copy no.65 of 980.
