Manoscritto francese del XVII secolo circa. -   A curious and fascinating French heraldic manuscript from the 17th century with 344 watercolour drawings depicting almost 300 coats of arms and over 50 crowns, ecclesiastical ornaments, helmets and flags. Based on the references contained in the manuscript, the dating should be placed between 1644 and 1658, before the works of Menestrière and Laboureur.   8vo (125 x 85mm). Manuscript on paper with 133 leaves of which the final 4 are blank (a small worm hole throughout, some staining and browning, occasional tears and minor defects). Contemporary calf with spine decorated in gilt (minor rubbing). Provenance: manuscript monogram on front cover.
