Venice: Girolamo Tasso, 1826.   Venetian edition of this well-known historical atlas in fine contemporary colouring. The text is enclosed in synchronous-chronological tables, to follow the method used by Le Sage and the colour maps, often double-page, are by Albrizzi.   Folio (401 x 274mm). Printer's device on title, text mostly in colour and 37 colour plates (the number of plates may vary, some leaves slightly shorter, some slight foxing and browning). Contemporary quarter-calf with gilt title and blindstamped decorations, marbled paper covers (rebacked preserving original spine, some wear). Our copy is collated [pigreco]2 1-46/2 with the addition of some leaves from another edition at end. Provenance: Almici (bookplate on front endpaper).
