Venice: Giorgio Fossati, 1755.   A fresh and uncut copy with numerous engraved plates illustrating plants of the Adriatic Sea. Ginanni, a zoologist from Ravenna, studied molluscs, fossils and marine algae in depth both from the Ravenna area and from the numerous books sent to him by illustrious colleagues of the time. A copy in excellent condition, finely printed by Fossati.   First volume (of 2), folio (400 x 270mm). Engraved title in red and black, engraved headpieces and initials, 56 engraved plates, one of which unnumbered with the author's portrait (tear on plate XV not touching engraving, lightly yellowed). Modern cloth, uncut, manuscript author's name on spine (very light rubbing).
