The author was a fencing master at the Georgius Augustus University of Göttingen and was the first to coin the term Kreusslerische Schule, considering Wilhelm Kreussler as the founder of sword fighting. Thimm p.153.   4to (222 x 172mm). Gothic characters, woodcut headpieces, 25 engraved numbered plates each containing three battle scenes by J.J. Kauffmann, C.F Fritzsch after mainly by L.E. Cuerland (lacking frontispiece portrait and a blank, light browning, a few occasional stains). Contemporary speckled calf with gilt spine, decorated endpapers (extremities rubbed).
