The first three volumes contain splendid engravings of paintings by masters of the "école française", the "école allemande" and the "école italienne".   3 volumes only (of 4), folio (587 x 440mm). Title with engraved vignette, engraved head-and-tail pieces, 262 engraved plates (lacking some text leaves, first and final leaves of the second volume with a small crease, some foxing). Contemporary half red morocco, titles on label and rich gilt decorations on spine, gilt edges (slight losses and some wear). (3)
