[LAFRERI, Antoine (1512-1577)] - Septentrionalium Partium Nova Tabula e Ptolemaei Typus. [Rome: Antoine Lafreri, 1575?].   An extraordinary copy in excellent condition of this separately printed renowned map which is found only in some of Lafreri's earliest editions. After the first appearances of the map, it was purchased by Ziletti who, dividing it into two different plates, inserted it into the first edition of Claudius Ptolemy's Geographia of 1561, thus creating two separate maps. Extremely difficult to find on the market: there are no auction results (RBH) or copies currently on sale. Engraved map from a single plate (sheet 500 x 357mm; engraving 415 x 261mm). (Minimal browning and tiny tears far from the engraving, a tiny paperflaw to Frislanda in the Septrentrionalium partium nova tabula without loss, some small light stains)
