[VALLARDI] - [Atlante geografico]. [Milan: Francesco Vallardi, ca.1868].   A rich collection of geographical maps curated by Vallardi comprising a total of 148 maps and plates, some handcoloured in outline. The work draws inspiration from the renown Geographical Atlas by Zuccagni Orlandini.   4 volumes, elephant folio (575 x 398mm). The volumes are divided as follows: the first is dedicated to Northern Italy and contains 41 maps and plates; the second is with 41 maps relating to Central Italy and the third with 30 maps dedicated mostly to the islands. The final volume is dedicated to Ancient Italy and it contains 36 maps and plates. The geometric profiles of the Alps in the final volume are of particular interest; there are no title pages or indexes (some occasional staining and foxing, slightly browned).
