MATISSE, Henri (1869-1954) - The Last Works of Henri Matisse. Testi a cura di Pierre Reverdy e Georges Duthuit, Verve, Volume IX, No. 35/36. New York: Harcourt, Brace, 1958.   The renowned, colourful and lively work by Matisse printed in New York. The first lithographic plates were printed in 1954 under the artist's own direction, but the publication was only finished in 1958, four years after his death. It is the edition of the famous French magazine Verve nn. 35/36 in the American version.   Folio (365 x 267mm). 28 original colour lithographs printed by Mourlot, some double-paged or folding (some light marginal foxing). Orange editorial cover printed in red with the printed autograph of Henri Matisse, orange dust jacket with repeated printed autograph of the artist (rather serious defects to dust jacket with some losses and minor defects on the binding).
