The manual is rich with instructions for the design of fortifications, with particular emphasis on drawing their plans, profiles, and perspective views, and is dedicated to the sovereign Prince of Orange and Stadtholder Frederik Hendrik (1584-1647).   4to (296 x 196mm). Engraved title, woodcut initials and headpieces, engraved illustrations (title restored, wormtracks sometimes affecting text, some leaves in the first gatherings on guards with restorations to inner margin affecting text in *4-**1, some staining).
