IPPOCRATE (460 D.C.-370 D.C.) - Hippocratis Coi medicorum omnium facile principis opera. Venice: Giovanni Valgrisi, 1575.   First edition of the works of Hippocrates with the commentary of Giovanni Marinelli. The first part contains the Latin translation of the corpus of Hippocratic writings, the second part focuses on the comments by Marinelli, a Modenese physician and scholar of classical languages who resided in Venice for many years.   2 parts in one volume, folio (312 x 215mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut initials and head-and-tail pieces (staining and restored losses to outer margin of the first title and some other leaves, especially at the beginning and end, 2G3 and y4 with a stain affecting the text compromising the legibility of some words, some marginal wormtracks and holes, some waterstaining, foxing, and browning). Contemporary vellum, spine with four compartments (some stains, losses on spine, lightly bowed). Provenance: Molis? (contemporary ownership inscription on title) - occasional contemporary annotations.
