CICERONE, Marco Tullio (106-43 B.C.) - [Scripta philosophica]. Rome: Conradus Sweynheym and Arnoldus Pannartz, 1471.   A very early and elegant edition printed in Rome by Conradus Sweynheym and Arnoldus Pannartz in 1471 which includes some works by Cicero. The first part contains the De Officis dated 27 April 1471 (the De natura deorum, De divinatione, Paradoxa, De amicitia and De senectute are missing); the second part contains the De finibus, De fato, De petitione consulatus, Academica [part one with the De philosophia] (lacking the Quaestiones Tusculanae, the Academica part two with the Academicae questiones, the Timaeus and De legibus) and is dated 20 September 1471.   Only some parts of th work, folio (319 x 206mm). Splendid illuminated border on title in gold, blue, green and red, initials rubricated in red and blue (occasional light stains; initials, coats of arms and illuminated letters removed). 18th-century vellum, manuscript title on spine, red speckled edges. Provenance: Luca S.P.C.? (stamp at the end and removed from title).
