CASTELLAMONTE, Amedeo di (1613-1683) - Venaria reale palazzo di piacere, e di caccia. Turin: Bartolomeo Zapatta, 1674.   An edition in fine binding of this splendidly illustrated work on the Royal Palace of Venaria. The work develops in the form of a dialogue between Amedeo di Castellamonte, architect of the palace and author of the work, and the Knight Bernini. It is one of the most beautiful books of the Italian Baroque era on a hunting and architectural theme, whose plates, engraved by Tesnière, are designed by Baroncelli, Mielle, Sacchetti, Demphinus and others.   Folio (270 x 196mm). Engraved frontispiece, engraved portrait of the dedicatee, two engraved titles, woodcut initials, 62 engraved plates of which many folding and double-page (first four leaves on guards, gathering A with some restorations not touching text, some plates with restored tears rarely touching the engraving, some light staining). Contemporary speckled calf with the arms of the Turinetti di Priero, gilt title and decorations on spine, gilt arms on covers, marbled endpapers (some restorations at extremities, some wear).
