A puce dragon-hu shaped porcelain vase with Qianlong mark under the base China Qing dynasty, 18th-19th century (h. cm 48) with wood base (minor defects)   The rarity of this vase, in addition to its size and shape, lies above all in the color of the glaze. Although pink glazes were first produced during the late Kangxi period, this technically demanding color palette was not fully mastered by the imperial workshops until the Qianlong. This glaze was also used in later times and the emperors of the Qing dynasty continued to commission puce-colored enamel items, but due to the complexity of achieving a rich and uniform tone, examples of puce glaze on a white ground are quite rare
