The auction year has come to an end and closes with the sale dedicated to the great masters of Design and Decorative Arts of the 20th century. Sale results exceeding € 550.000, 75% of lots sold and 115% revaluation of estimates.


The exceptional “3458” model vase boosts public's bids for this wonderful unique piece by the Italian architect Tomaso Buzzi for Venini to a considerable price (€ 63,000), followed by the truncated cone vase from the “Tessere” series by Ercole Barovier (€ 7,560): both results reflect the value and appreciation for two internationally renowned masters.







Lot 44
Tomaso Buzzi Vase model "3458". Execution by Venini, Murano, 1932-33.
Double-mouthed body of multi-layered gray-purple incamiciato glass with gold leaf application.
Low truncated cone foot, "spiral" handle and filaments lying at the base of the "amber and gold" glass mouths. Unique piece (cm 18x23x23).

The "Monofilo" series designed by Luciano Grassi, Sergio Conti and Marisa Forlani, as concerns furniture, is confirmed to be highly sought after with the sale of the six "Artigianato" model armchairs (€ 37,800), as is the interest in timeless elegance for Franco Albini’s pair of chairs for the Pirovano hotel-lodge in Cervinia (€ 7,560).

In the same section, the results emerge for the creative flare evoked by the 1960s solid wood sideboard by Poltronova (€ 8,190), by Gaetano Pesce’s “Nobody's perfect - Zerodisegno” chair (€ 5,670) and by Piero Portaluppi’s wooden veneered dressing table with three drawers accompanied by the circular beveled crystal mirror (€ 4,410).

Lastly, worth mentioning is the result of the armchair attributable to Gio Ponti, which confirms the in-depth researches by the department (€ 5,040).
