SANNAZZARO, Iacopo (1456-1530) - Arcadia. Venice: Aldo Manuzio, 1514 [al colophon].   First Aldine edition of Sannazzaro's fundamental work, which profoundly influenced all European literature in the following centuries. Furthermore, together with Pietro Bembo's Asolani, it is the only contemporary text printed by Manuzio.   8vo (150 x 95mm). Printer's device on title and at the end (first two leaves slightly shorter at outer margin but with corresponding stains on the following leaves, marginal wormtracks restored on title and at the end, small wormhole throughout sometimes touching some letters, slight waterstaining and browning). Later vellum, gilt title on spine label, speckled edges (a few small wormholes, slight losses on label, light wear).
