Some of the engravings are of large format and illustrate the ancient circuses of Rome and their architecture. Variant C.   Folio (465 x 320mm). Text on two columns in Italian and French, engraved vignette on title, two engraved head and two tail-pieces, 20 engraved numbered plates, some of which are of large format and folding (some foxing, soiling, occasional browning also affecting plates). An uncut copy in half modern leather, spine decorated in gold (front joint broken), preserved in gray paper slipcase.
