BACCI, Andrea (1524-1600) - De thermis.. libri septem.. in quo agitur de universa aquarum natura.. de balneis totius orbis. Venice: Vincenzo Valgrisi, 1571.   First edition of Bacci's work dedicated to baths and thermal springs throughout Europe; part of the work is dedicated to the geological origins of water and springs, as well as their medical properties for internal and external use. A second edition was printed by Valgrisi's son Felice in 1587.   Folio (302 x 208mm). Printer's device on title, woodcut initials, double page woodcut plan of the baths of Diocletian (title lightly reinforced in the lower outer margin, some traces of soiling and foxing, few sporadic restorations, tiny wormholes at the upper margin of 2R-2S). Contemporary limp vellum, manuscript title on spine (modern endpapers, light staining).
