Venice: Gabriele Giolito de Ferrari, 1566.   First edition of this historic work which was part of the impressive editorial project "Collana historica de' Greci", started in 1563 from the collaboration of Porcacchi with Giolito de' Ferrari. The works were divided into two series, the "anelli", by ancient Greek historians, and the "gioie", by contemporary authors; the present work by Porcacchi was part of the latter series.   4to (205 x 155mm). Printer's device on title and at end, woodcut headpieces and initials (small marginal wormtracks and stains on title, small wormtrack in final gathering lightly touching a letter, spotting, marginal waterstain at the first and final leaves and at gatherings E-F). Early vellum, manuscript title on spine (minor wear mostly on rear cover). Provenance: Vedi Haym lire 10 (ancient ownership inscription on endpaper).
